Toshiba's slim, affordable SD-705 DivX Home Theater Certified has many standard features such as progressive-scan component-video outputs and built-in decoding for MP3 music files, as well as JPEG image CD playback so you can enjoy digital slideshows right in the living room. It also converts any-region-encoded PAL-formatted discs (the standard in Europe) for viewing on standard NTSC televisions used in North America. It's a good choice for an entry level player for a basic TV setup.

Model: Toshiba SD-705 Multi-Region Version. Digital Cinema Progressive Scan (3:2 Pulldown). Colorstream Pro Component output. Plays any region PAL or NTSC DVD from regions 0-6 including RCE/REA movies. This player does not need a multi-system TV or a external video converter. Built-in 64 MB PAL to NTSC video converter allows playback of PAL movies on a NTSC TV. Basically this DVD player will play any region DVD movie on an American TV without any extra equipment, even RCE and REA movies. High video quality! This model has a 10-Bit, 54 mhz Video Digital to Analog Converter. The SD-SD705 also performs 3:2 pulldown. DVD mastering introduces a common distortion when adjusting 24 frames-per-second movies to 30 fps video; 3:2 pulldown digitally corrects this distortion, removing the redundant information to display a film-frame-accurate picture. Guaranteed to play all region 0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7 DVV movies including RCE and RCA discs. Plays DVD, DiVX, Audio CD, DVD-R, DVD+R, Audio CD, MP-3 and WMA on CD-R/CD-RW.
