Straight out of a futuristic movie, Sony's MZ-R50 puts outstanding music playback
and recording capability in the palm of your hand. This latest Sony MiniDisc portable comes in a sturdy metal case and produces perfect rock-steady digital sound thanks to it's 40-second
shock-resistant memory.

Recording from your favorite audio sources is easy thanks to features like analog and digital
inputs, a built-in sampling rate converter, and extensive editing and disc/track titling
capabilities. The top-mounted "vertical jog dial" is a thumbwheel-like control that makes it easy
to dial up tracks while watching the song titles or track numbers on the LCD.

The supplied foldable in-the-ear headphones have a unique in-line stick-style remote with an informative LCD panel, making it easy to change MiniDisc track, pause or do whatever. The remote control is by far the best we've seen on any portable stereo unit.

You can also enjoy up to 22 hours of playback using the supplied rechargeable plus 2 "AA" batteries (not
included).

Track name search/select with Jog Dial (Index Search) allows you to easily scan track title names while a track is playing, then select another track for playback

Records in stereo or monaural (74 minutes stereo, or 148 minutes monaural, on 74 minute disc) giving you the option of monaural recording for voice or dictation at double the usual recording time on a MiniDisc; or stereo, to help identify individual speakers around a table or for quality music recordings
